Ticks: the right reflexes
Ticks can transmit Lyme disease. In Belgium the risk is highest from June to October.
The essentials
- Wear light, covering clothes, trousers tucked into socks.
- Stay in the middle of paths.
- Check your whole body after every outing.
- Remove the tick quickly with a tick remover, no ether or alcohol, then disinfect.

Write down the date of the bite and watch the skin for 30 days. A growing red patch? See your doctor.
